More than 80 dentists, specialists and doctors across Gauteng work with Joburg Sedation. This guide explains how mobile sedation fits into your practice.
Why practices use a mobile sedationist
- Treat anxious, young, special-needs and complex patients in your own rooms
- Avoid theatre bookings and waiting lists for suitable procedures
- Offer patients a more affordable option when medical aid does not cover theatre
- Focus entirely on the procedure while a dedicated team manages sedation
What we bring
- A team of two on every case: Dr Khan plus a registered nurse or second doctor
- Monitoring equipment for ECG, oxygen level, heart rate and blood pressure
- Oxygen, emergency drugs and resuscitation equipment
- Pre-sedation assessment, monitored recovery and written aftercare
What your rooms need
- A treatment room with enough space for the sedation team and equipment around the patient
- A chair or bed that can recline fully
- A place for the patient to recover before going home
- Access to power points
If you are unsure whether your rooms are suitable, Dr Khan is happy to advise.
Suitable procedures
We support general dentists, maxillofacial surgeons, prosthodontists, periodontists and oral medicine specialists, as well as orthopaedic, plastic and paediatric surgeons, obstetricians and gynaecologists, ENT specialists, dermatologists and other doctors performing minor procedures out of theatre.
How to book
Call or WhatsApp 071 646 1513 with the procedure, expected duration, preferred date and your practice address. Share the patient’s details so Dr Khan can complete the pre-sedation assessment.
Billing
Sedation is billed separately from your fees. We claim directly from the patient’s medical aid, and cash rates are available. Full details are on our fees page.
Joburg Sedation follows SASA procedural sedation guidelines. Dr Khan is registered with the HPCSA and SOSPOSA.
